trunk shows June 29 2012, 0 Comments
If you haven't heard, Figgy's offers Sample/Trunk Shows! As most fabric shop owners know there is no better way to show off a pattern or fabric line than a display of samples to spotlight your newest offerings. The only trouble is, what shop owner has the time to create the samples? Now, you don’t have to worry about! Daniela and I have created a package of adorable samples using the newest up to date fabrics just for your sample/trunk show. In the last few months our sample show has been traveling around the states. Our sample show in the last few months has made stops at:
Bolt Fabric Boutique (Portland)
The Sewcial Lounge (Wisconsin)
and most recently Dry Goods Design (Seattle).
Daniela had the pleasure of stopping in during a fun filled evening with the shop owner Keli and her friend/employee Joanna. I was so sad that I missed the opportunity to visit but I'm rescheduling a visit very soon! When Daniela returned from Seattle she sent me this email:
The store is located in a very cool area with lots of shops and restaurants. The store is very cute and Keli is a super nice, energetic gal and so passionate about her business. I bought some of the zigzag fabric to cover my ironing board. There always was a handful of people in the store who always stayed a long time, had drinks and snacks and took time for a chat. Our patterns were displayed all over the store and I could talk to customers, how they can customize a pattern to fit their child, how to turn straps with a bobby pin, what to watch out for making the pattern. Sewing with knits etc. it was real fun and lovely to meet people. -Daniela
What a pleasure to hear. She also mentioned that Keli makes an outstanding Grapefruit Elderflower Fizz! Now if I can just get up to Seattle sooner rather than later I could have my own GEF and sit on her super cozy looking couch.....
